The Foundation of Canine Behavior

Genetics are strings of genes that are passed down through generations by which character and temperament are formed & displayed. Different strings of genes found in dogs carry certain behavioral traits.

Examples include: Herding, submissiveness, dominance, dominant aggression etc...

Although many different behavioral genes may have been passed down to the puppy through its parents, 85% of the time unwanted behavior can be altered, addressed and corrected at a young age.
A professional experienced trainer/behaviorist will provide the best results.

Unwanted behavior can be influenced by environment.
For example, the dog's environment can be linked to behaviors such as hyperactivity often caused by a busy home or strings of unwanted edgy behavior caused by a very stressful home. A stable environment is important.

Rooted Behavior:

Begins at an early stage, usually when still in its mothers care.

Owner Induced:

Dog owners not knowingly encourage unwanted behavior. Balance is key.
